Ice Infested Waters

Since the Polar Codes came into force in 2015, polar navigators have been mandated to capture and record observations on ice conditions around their vessels.

Working with stakeholder support from the Royal Navy, we are developing a method of capturing and sharing this crowd-sourced data.

We are exploring ways to gather and share data on moth sightings across the UK. With around 2,500 species observed in the UK, these sightings provide crucial insights into biodiversity and ecological health. Tracking changes in their frequency and distribution over time can offer valuable insights on the impact of climate change and the effectiveness of ecological support strategies.

Conditional Understanding

How many apps do you have on your phone or computer right now? Have you really read all the terms and conditions that apply to each and every one of them?

I know we haven’t!

One area of our research is looking to provide users a more informed understanding of what they have signed up to and how this might have changed over time.
